BIG IMPACT
EPIC’s child care policy work helps
parents stay in the workforce
Our members play a critical role in advancing policies and initiatives that
position child care as essential community infrastructure. This past year, EPIC
strengthened its bipartisan policy leadership in Colorado and contributed to
major national policy efforts.
EPIC helped protect critical state funding for children and families while also
advancing implementation strategies that support local and statewide investment in
child care through public–private partnerships, employer engagement and
community based solutions. This includes continued leadership in statewide
stakeholder engagement to prepare for the 2026 renewal of the Colorado Child
Care Contribution Tax Credit.

Child Care Contribution
Tax Credit design
Nationally, we worked with partners to advance
meaningful tax credit improvements that support
children and help families stay in the workforce.
These efforts contributed to $18 billion in federal
tax credit enhancements, including a permanent
and expanded Child Tax Credit, a significantly
increased Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit,
and a tripled employer-provided child care credit to
encourage stronger employer and community
partnerships.
The cap on Dependent Care Assistance Plans also
increased from $5,000 to $7,500, giving families and
employers more flexibility to support child care needs.
